I started WONTED honestly on a whim. I was tired of getting dressed feeling like a negotiation and every online purchase feeling like a defeat.

Shopping often felt like a race where prizes were left out for those who are not in straight sizes. I'd find something I loved, scroll down, and know immediately it wouldn't fit my bust or my hips.

I got into the habit of ordering two or three sizes of the same thing just to send most of it back. If a return rate that high doesn't tell you the system is broken, I don't know what does.

I'm Asian, and I've been a UK 14 to 18 through most of my adult life. For a long time I just assumed “well-made” and “my size” didn't really overlap. So WONTED started as a stubborn little experiment: what if I designed something I actually wanted, in my own “wonted” style?

That's still the whole plan.

Fabrics are natural fibers I've always gravitated towards, because can't a girl be comfy and chic at the same time? And honestly, I'm done perspiring in plastic in this relentless Singapore heat.

Quality should matter more than how fast and affordably something can be produced and sold. Every size starts at UK 14 and goes to 22. That's not the edit of the range, it's the entire range.
